Transplace to manage international shipments of Hohner
Transplace, a third party logistics (3PL) provider, has been selected by Hohner, an international distributor of musical instruments, to manage inbound US shipments from China.
Transplace will employ its Web-based technology to achieve greater visibility, reduce transportation costs and improve overall operational efficiency.
Virginia-based Hohner distributes musical instruments, including harmonicas, accordions, recorders, melodicas, guitars, ukuleles, drums and drum accessories.
Hohner logistics manager Barbara Koch said with its international experience and capabilities, Transplace is the right strategic partner to help Hohner achieve greater visibility and control of our supply chain, in order to better serve our customers and attain our business goals.
Transplace will deploy its technology and Lean Six Sigma-based processes to deliver visibility into Hohner's shipments of inbound ocean containers from Asia to the instrument manufacturer's facilities throughout the US.
Transplace vice president of international Sheila Hewitt said leveraging their international experience and strong relationships in Asia, they can help ensure 360-degree visibility of all shipments, on-time deliveries and cost savings.
"We are committed to working closely with Hohner to understand its business needs and help the manufacturer ensure operational success across its global supply chain," Hewitt said.
