Transplace to manage inbound shipments from China for Winston

ABR Staff Writer Published 07 December 2011

Transplace, a third party logistics provider, has received a contract from Winston Company, a toy manufacturer for the worldwide retailers, to manage inbound US shipments from Ningbo, China.

As per the contract, Transplace will provide visibility into inbound ocean containers from Asia to the toy manufacturer's facility in Long Beach, assisting with inventory management and minimizing the level of manual work involved in Winston's daily operations.

In addition, the 3PL will provide vendor management training to staff on-site in China and ensure that all processes and procedures flow smoothly at point of origin.

Winston International director of global supply chain Michael Bahn said Transplace's international experience and expertise makes them an ideal fit for the company's current needs in China.

"We believe the tools and knowledge they bring to the table will help us be even more successful in continued growth and achieving our business goals," Bahn said.

"Transplace strives to become a partner versus a service-provider, which is extremely important for our supply chain goals."

Transplace vice president of international Sheila Hewitt said at the company, its international team prides ourselves on the solid relationships it has built in Asia and throughout North America.

"Our strong network of agents helps ensure deliveries are on-time, cost savings are achieved, and most importantly, that we provide the highest level of service to our customers," Hewitt said.
