Transact starts non-military cargo charter service into Afghanistan air base
Transact International, a US-based third party logistics provider, has started the first non-military cargo charter service into the Shindand air base in Afghanistan.
The service is part of the company's overall Middle East concentration and adds current operations at both the Bagram and Kandahar Air Bases in Afghanistan.
Transact International president and CEO Thomas Anderson said the company's ability to successfully manage the complex and sensitive logistics needs of military support operations in theater has made us a leader in this market segment.
"While other logistics providers are downsizing in this poor economy and we have found ways to grow," Anderson said.
The 3PL provider offers service from JFK Airport with twice weekly flights to Sharjah and Dubai with on-forwarding flights into the Afghanistan Theater.
It operates offices in Bohemia, New York; Boca Raton, Florida; Dallas, Texas; and Dubai, UAE.
