Nokian Tyres and Fiege renew logistics contract

LBR Staff Writer Published 24 August 2017

Finnish tyres maker Nokian Tyres has renewed its logistics contract with Fiege until the end of 2019.

The contract extension has taken place early, before the earlier contract ended.

Nokian Tyres operates two plants, one in Nokia, Finland and another in Vsevolozhsk, Russia, where tyres are manufactured.

Fiege Logistik has been providing logistics services for Nokian’s car tyres since 2015. The company supplied solutions from the Hessian municipality of Otzberg since this date.

Fiege has been contracted to manage all of the 44,000m² of storage space used by Nokian in Otzberg.

From this storage facility, the company will supply a range of retailers across Germany and several other European countries with Nokian tyres.

Feige also manages a distribution centre for Nokian Tyres near to Warsaw which has been set up for distributions to Austria from the Czech Republic.

Fiege member of the management for tyre logistics Christian Thiemann said: “We are thrilled that one of the leading tyre makers in the world continues to place their trust in us. Our customer, Nokian records continued strong growth which is why we will manage all 44,000 square metres of storage space in Otzberg for Nokian.”

Last month, Vitos, a provider of specialist clinics as well as institutions dedicated to youth welfare and services for the disabled, has teamed up with Fiege Logistik for its supply chain operations.

Since early July this year, Fiege Healthcare has been responsible for operational buying, storage and transport of goods as well as order picking for Vitos.
