GAC Abu Dhabi, RB Logistics partner for talc shipments

LBR Staff Writer Published 09 November 2017

GAC Abu Dhabi has secured a contract to provide logistics services for the European bulk logistics provider RB Logistics.

The company has been selected for the second time to offer a complete logistics service package for RB Logistics.

The scope of the two-year contract includes freight services, transportation, warehousing and handling of talcum powder from Italy to Ruwais for a client of IMI FABI.

GAC will collect talc from IMI FABI’s mine in Italy and transport it by sea to Abu Dhabi, where it will manage the customs clearance before transporting to GAC’s Mina Zayed warehouse.

Later, the talc will be loaded into RB’s 40-foot silo containers with the support of a specialised RB Transloading machine. It will be transported to the production plant in Ruwais.

Empty containers will return to the warehouse after unloading, while the GAC team will execute up to 12 load out operations per month.

GACWare warehouse management system has been integrated into the supply chain to maintain accurate stock records and manage inventory control.

RB Logistics CEO Ben Reijers said: “By combining RB’s and GAC’s expertise and experience, we are able to offer a unique and niche solution to IMI FABI and their customer.

“Both companies share the same strong values, and we are very proud to be able to work in partnership on this project.”

GAC offers various logistics services, including contract logistics, freight services, international moving, land transportation, project logistics and supply chain management.
