Coyote Logistics to expand Chicago headquarters
Chicago based transportation and logistics firm Coyote Logistics will expand its headquarters at Logan Square, opening up 500 job opportunities at the facility.
The firm will invest $4m in capital improvements at the facility and intends to offer sales, operations, and other IT-related positions there.
Workers will be hired over the course of the next three years.
The third party logistics provider will also get $2.5m from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) for setting up the office and equipment purchase at the facility.
DCEO Director Adam Pollet said: "Coyote Logistics is one of many successful companies choosing to expand its headquarters in Illinois.
"Coyote's commitment to Illinois will provide hundreds of quality jobs and is further proof of Illinois' comeback."
The expansion plans for the firm is expected to be an economic boon for the US state, which emerged as second state in terms of job growth in the country in September this year.
Illinois governor Pat Quinn said: "As we lead the Midwest in job growth, Coyote Logistics is adding to our momentum, creating jobs and driving our economy further forward."
Coyote Logistics CEO Jeff Silver said: "One of the most significant advantages to Coyote being headquartered in Chicago is, it has made it incredibly easy to hire from a pool of highly-skilled workers.
"We hire employees from across North America who want to live and work in Illinois. We are excited to expand in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago - it's a great place to live and do business."
The firm offers services to meet third party supply chain requirements for consultative, executional and transactional purposes across North America.
